Heart of the Community Campaign

Every Community Needs a Heart!

a center where the Community can meet, plan, learn, play, and celebrate together.

What is the Heart of the Community Campaign?

When the Park and Community Center open in October, the North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) will open the Center to the public and offer drop-in programs without charge, Monday through Friday mornings. Fee-based recreational programs will be scheduled for the afternoons and evenings.

The Heart of the Community Campaign is an opportunity for members of the Oak Lodge Neighborhoods to join together in funding a community space located in the heart of our community.

For many years, the residents of the Oak Lodge area have worked to create a space at the heart of the community that will be open and hospitable for all who live and work in our neighborhoods.

On Saturday, October 18th, the community celebrates the opening of this new place, the Concord Park and Community Center and adjacent Oak Lodge Library. Together, the park, the community center, and the library, make real what was once only a dream.

Funding for the Concord Community Center and Park comes from the North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD). At this time, the NCPRD does not have the necessary dollars to fully fund the community center. Without additional funding, the drop-in center that provides an opportunity for people to gather without charge, will close at the end of June 2026. The objective of the Heart of the Community Campaign is to fill the budget gap while the NCPRD seeks longer term funding.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $100,000 over the next year.

All money raised through this campaign will go toward keeping the doors of the drop-in program open so that community members can continue to come together to visit, study, work, learn, play, and celebrate in the Heart of the Community.
